TIPS FOR SUCCESSFUL MACHINE QUILTING
- Piece accurately. When adding borders, measure from the middle and EASE the seams.
- PRESS, PRESS, PRESS seams. Avoid twisted seams.
- Trim points and clip threads.
- Square the backing fabric. Make sure it is 8 (that’s eight) inches larger than the top on the width AND the length.
- Do not use selvages. Trim selvages away from backing seams.
- If back is seamed, press seams open.
PRICING
Over All Patterns start at $.025 ( 2.5 cents)/sq. inch. This is one category that has really exploded in the past few years. The range of patterns can run from very simple to very elaborate. The quilting can be done in any size. We choose a pattern together based on fabric motifs, quilt style, batting choice, and who the quilt is for. This is way more than just meandering! ( Minimum charge is $60.00.)
Custom Quilting starts at $.04 (4 cents)/sq. inch. Which includes separate border, separate sashing, stitch-in-the-ditch, and background fill. (Minimum charge is $100.00.)
